This was hand turned from a block consisting of Maple, Hickory and Oak with Purpleheart end caps.  It was made in 2 sections and joined with Maple with a light pinkish/red coating.  
It weighs 0.22 kg and is 14" long.  The taper is from 1/2" to 1  1/4".
